As Managing Partner, David focuses on portfolio management, asset allocation, and investment research. He is also a leader in the firm’s wealth management practice and works closely with ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, and institutions. Additionally, David serves as a member of HighTower’s Alternative Investment Committee. Prior to forming Fischer Stralem Advisors, David was a Partner and a Portfolio Manager at Fischer & Company, a private wealth manager and investment management firm.
Prior to joining Fischer & Company in 2003, David had a career in both alternative and traditional investment management. As an Investment Analyst at UBS Global Asset Management (GAM), he was a member of a focused team that managed over $5 billion in hedge fund assets. His responsibilities included analyzing and overseeing a portfolio of U.S. long-short equity hedge funds, as well as sourcing and analyzing new investments. He began his career at Salomon Smith Barney as a Research Analyst focused on selecting, analyzing, and monitoring investments for large institutional pension and retirement plans.
David received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of California at Los Angeles and a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Chicago.
